Peer-Led Experiences

Through two peer-led opportunities, Independence Foundation offers our grantees the space to connect, network, and share ideas with other non-profit organizations

Lunchtime Sessions

These one-off sessions create an opportunity for staff and board members to explore various topics with their peers.  Topics are requested by grantees and include themes such as communications, branding/PR, fundraising, volunteer management, board management, workplace boundaries, managing differences in the workplace, creating an inclusive environment, diversity equity and inclusion, and COVID specific topics such as scenario planning and budgeting through an unknown.

Who can participate?

These sessions are open to any staff or board member from a grantee organization; participants self-select to take part in this program.

How many participants are allowed per session?

Unlimited in virtual format; limited to 25 for in-person format

This series is ongoing. Sessions last 90 minutes and are offered bimonthly throughout the year.

Grapple Sessions -- COMING SOON!

Organizations bring an issue they are struggling with to their peer group for a brainstorming session to help find solutions

Who can participate?

These sessions are open to leadership staff from grantee organizations interested in brainstorming solutions to an issue they are facing with their peer group of grantees. The organization wanting the grapple session can request the Foundation for a convening. Foundation staff will invite grantee organizations to attend.

How many participants are allowed per session?

Two to three participants from the requesting organization, up to 15 participants from other grantee organizations.

This series is ongoing. Each session lasts 90 minutes and is offered throughout the year
